Environmental Sustainability

The 2025 Highlights and Key Achievements represent the practical realization of Tatung System Technologies Inc.’s (tsti) "Twin-Axis Transformation". By combining digital expertise with environmental stewardship, the company successfully reduced its environmental footprint while empowering its value chain.

The primary accomplishments recorded for the 2025 fiscal year span energy conservation, carbon management, green procurement, waste reduction, and advocacy:

1. Significant Energy Conservation & Operational Optimization

  • Outstanding Electricity Reductions: tsti achieved a 12.57% reduction in electricity consumption compared to 2024, representing a 10.81% reduction relative to its 2023 baseline year.
  • Data Center Audits: This saving was primarily driven by systematic IT asset audits at the 4th-floor data center, which allowed tsti to decommission idle, non-operational equipment and shut down low-efficiency legacy machinery.
  • Decreasing Energy Intensity: Due to increased consolidated revenue combined with lowered consumption, tsti's energy intensity plummeted to 1.56 GJ per NT$ Million of revenue.

2. Rigorous Carbon Governance & GHG Management

  • Declining Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions: tsti's total GHG emissions in 2025 reached 1,377.3881 metric tons of CO2e, marking a 9.01% decrease compared to 2024.
    • Scope 1 (Direct): 82.0372 metric tons CO2e (5.96%), stemming mostly from corporate vehicle fuel and septic fugitive emissions.
    • Scope 2 (Energy Indirect): 945.5097 metric tons CO2e (68.65%), generated from purchased office electricity.
    • Scope 3 (Other Indirect): 349.8412 metric tons CO2e (25.39%), covering commuting, copying paper, and toilet paper.
  • Emissions Intensity Optimization: Carbon emissions intensity was heavily optimized, dropping to 0.27 metric tons of CO2e per NT$ Million of revenue (down from 0.43 in 2023 and 0.38 in 2024).
  • Third-Party Verification: tsti passed external third-party verification under the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard for its 2025 GHG emissions inventory (with the official verification statement obtained from the British Standards Institution (BSI) on May 20, 2026).
  • Exceeding Regulatory Deadlines: Ahead of the FSC's official 2027 consolidated subsidiary inventory requirements, tsti completed disclosures for all consolidated subsidiaries in 2025.
  • Cultivating Internal Expertise: The company accumulated 17 certified sustainability employees, including 8 certified ISO 14064-1 internal auditors (with 1 additional auditor trained in 2025).

3. Green Procurement and Resilient Supply Chains

  • Exceeding Procurement Goals: tsti’s total green procurement spending reached NT$ 3,308,279 in 2025. This represents a stellar 165% execution rate against its NT$ 2 million target.
  • Continuous Public Recognition: For its green purchasing, tsti received a Certificate of Appreciation under the Taipei City Government's Private Enterprise Green Procurement Program for two consecutive years (2025 and 2026).
  • Commitment to Local Economies: Local procurement across tsti and its subsidiaries accounted for 94.06% of total procurement expenditures (exceeding NT$ 3.9 billion). Purchasing locally significantly lowered transport-associated carbon footprints while bolstering supply-chain resilience.

4. Advancing the Circular Economy & Office Recycling

  • Strategic Resource Diversion: Out of 4.688 metric tons of non-hazardous waste generated in 2025, tsti diverted 3.429 metric tons (73.14%) away from landfills and incineration toward secure paper recycling (entrusted to professional contractors for secure wet hydro-pulping).
  • Packaging Material Reuse: By collecting packaging materials at client sites to reuse as air pillow cushioning and shipping protection, tsti reduced its resource footprint and generated annual cost savings of NT$ 6,600.
  • Paperless E-Invoices: Through its long-term e-invoicing program with subsidiaries Chyun Huei and TISNet, the group achieved a carbon emission reduction equivalent to 0.2 metric tons across 17,727 issued e-invoices in 2025.

5. Multi-Layered Advocacy and Community Volunteerism

  • Wetlands Protection & Stream Cleaning: Following a specialized biodiversity training course titled Discovering the Beauty of Wetlands, tsti employees engaged in local stream-cleaning and mountain-hiking activities. This initiative recorded 283 participant-times and accumulated 934 volunteer hours.
  • Continuous Internal Education: tsti conducted mandatory ESG training courses for all newly recruited personnel. In 2025, a total of 540 participant-times completed these sustainability courses, accumulating 267 hours of training.
  • Fostering Digital ESG Insights: Through its official corporate blog, tsti published 50 articles in 2025 focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), ESG sustainability, and information security to drive sustainable value creation.
  • Industry Accolades: tsti’s active low-carbon tech offerings—such as its ESG AIoT Intelligent Command Platform, tiCare Telehealth, and Low-Carbon AIoT Smart Restrooms—helped earn the "Sustainable Partner Outstanding Contribution Award" at the Cathay Financial Holdings Supply Chain Sustainability Initiative Summit in 2025.
